I’ve been inspired by my friend Juniper Gimlet to do a makeup post. She posts frequently about her favorite products and different makeup challenges she is involved in. I highly suggest you check out her blog for vintage inspiration.
I don’t often attend events in which a full face of makeup is needed, but I do enjoy practicing once every couple weeks. I also feel like I’ve finally found the products that work for me and I’m excited to share this with you!
First, I’ll start with saying my skin care regimen is lacking. I just now got a daily moisturizer and eye cream for my dark circles. I know, I should have started years ago. I also cant use soap on my face, I’ve tried them all and they all make me break out so I wash my face with hot water and exfoliate with a face buffer. I before I apply my makeup I use this face toner.
Next, found a moisturizer from Clinique that works very well for my oily to oily skin.
I finally found a lip moisturizer that works for my frequently chapped lips. This Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment by Fresh is amazing!
This Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector is still very new to me so I’m waiting to see the effects on my dark circles. It does moisturize my eyes though, but it was more than I’d like to spend on a product that does only that.
I finally picked myself up a beauty blender! I was initially annoyed to spend $20 on a sponge but its worth every penny.
Next is my favorite foundation by Clinique, again from the Even Better line. It provides perfect coverage and matches my skin perfectly.
I use BareMinerals Bareskin on my eyes and to clean up my brows after shaping. It doesn’t clump up in my little lines and matches my foundation very well.
I use Sephora Waterproof Eyeliner, I have for years and find it to be the easiest to apply.
And that’s it! I’ve never used blush, contoured my face, and I don’t use mascara or falsies. No judgement if you do, anything past foundation is just to heavy for my skin. This takes me about 15 minutes.
